A new tag

(Almost) all the content on this blog consists of videos showing live performances of sacred music. However, most of it is concert footage. Since this music was largely written to be performed in the liturgy itself, I have decided it is worth flagging up those performances that were actually recorded during divine worship. I have therefore retrospectively tagged all such posts with the label "Liturgical performance".

The Last Bright Rinsings, by Gemma McGregor

The words are from George Mackay Brown's novel, Magnus, mixed with words from Psalm 38:13,14. Here the piece is performed by the University of Aberdeen Chapel Choir conducted by John Frederic Hudson. Thanks to the composer for this information.

This year, because 16 April fell during Holy Week, the feast of St Magnus of Orkney is transferred to Monday 29 April.
